Galaxy Tab 7 users can now update their devices to 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. This update was made possible by the CyanogenMod team. The team has released the latest build of CM10.1 for devices. Galaxy S4 and One were also included.

Specifically, the users of the GT-P1000 version of the tablet can update using the CM10.1 Nightly ROM based on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The ROM is based on the initially released Android Open Source Project. Based on reports, the developed AOSP promises a more stable and superior performance than the stock version.
Given that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 CM10.1 ROM available is a nightly build, users should expect some untested bugs and broken features. But rest assured users can find the fixes in these issues in the next updates for Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean CM10.1 ROM.
Disclaimer: Some recommend against using the custom ROM to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update. However, users can always choose to update at their own risk. Providers of the update have no control over what will happen to the device after the update.

There are things to satisfy before doing the update:
Users must ensure the model of their devices is GT-P1000. The custom ROM will only work with that given model. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 should also be at least 80 percent charged. USB debugging should be enabled on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7. Users should create a backup of important settings and data on their device. They can use either TWRP or ClockWorkMod.
Installation instructions:
1. Download the CM10.1 Nightly Build ROM for Galaxy Tab 7 P1000 [Filename: cm-10.1-20130504-EXPERIMENTAL-p1-cdesai.zip] and Google Apps [Filename: gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip]
2. Connect the device to the computer via USB cable.
3. Transfer the downloaded zip files to the SD card. Do not extract the files yet.
4. Disconnect the device once the transfer is completed.
5. Boot the Galaxy Tab into recovery. Turn off the device and then boot into the bootloader. In the bootloader, choose "Recovery Mode." Use the volume keys to navigate and select with the Power button. Users may also try this: Recovery Mode without Key Combination.
6. Users must do a Nandroid backup for their current ROM. This will allow them to restore it should they choose to go back. To do this, go to Backup and Restore. Choose Backup again. Return to the main recovery menu following the process.
7. Do a factory reset to wipe out data and cache. Select Yes to confirm. Wait for a few minutes. Return to the CWM recovery main menu. Choose wipe cache partition once the cache partition process has finished. Choose Wipe Dalvik Cache in advance option to do Dalvik cache wiping.
8. Choose the install zip from sdcard then select the zip. Find the cm-10.1-20130504-EXPERIMENTAL-p1-cdesai.zip file that was transferred earlier. Select it using the Power button. Confirm the installation. This will jumpstart the update process.
9. Following the completion of the ROM installation, repeat Step 8 but instead select gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip.
10. Once everything is done, return to the main recovery menu. Choose the reboot system now to reboot the device. The tablet will boot using the new ROM. This will take a couple of minutes. The device should be updated successfully.
