Yesterday, Microsoft released Remote Desktop apps for iOS and Android that let smartphone users control their Windows PCs on the go, but there was no Windows Phone version in sight. Fortunately, it's something the company is working quickly to fix. According to The Next Web, a Microsoft spokesperson confirmed that a Remote Desktop app for Windows Phone was in the works, though there's no specific timeframe for that launch yet. "Remote desktop on phones is a relatively rare usage scenario," the statement reads. "That said, we are working on a version of the app for Windows Phone. We'll be able to share timeframe at a later point in time." It's still a little surprising to see Microsoft's own OS play second fiddle to iOS and Android, but hopefully Windows Phone users won't have to wait too long.
