Ready to join the sharpest team in tech? Ars is hiring a new product specialist to help out with our reviews coverage and to take ownership of all Android coverage on the site. If you have professional tech writing experience (2+ years) and root Android handsets for fun, we should talk.
We're looking for someone who cannot live without puttering around with gadgets-someone for whom the idea of spending eight hours with nothing but a stack of smartphones and a laptop to write about them sounds like a quality way to blow a day. The right person for this job will love tinkering. You certainly don't have to be someone who pens Android kernel patches in your spare time, but if you're the kind of person who keeps a giant spreadsheet of all the soon-to-be-released gadgets that you can't wait to get your hands on and tear apart, then hey, we've got a job for you.

The ideal candidate will have:
Professional experience writing Ars-quality product reviews and analysis Intimate knowledge of smartphones and their operating systems A deep understanding of Android, in particular, and of the hardware ecosystem around Android Commitment to technical depth (and learning to go deeper) and to the craft of writing Passion for the latest and greatest technology products
